HIMSS Cybersecurity Expert Lee Kim Running for ISC2 Board of Directors

Lee Kim

Lee Kim, HIMSS Senior Principal of Cybersecurity and Privacy, is running for the Board of Directors of ISC2, the world’s leading member association for cybersecurity professionals.

Eligible ISC2 members in good standing can vote from June 18-July 2, 2024, for Lee Kim to join the board.

Lee Kim is an industry-wide expert and educator in cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure and law.

“Cyberattacks aren’t uniquely a healthcare problem, but the industry is a major target because of the abundance of financially valuable personal information,” she told USA Today in a recent interview.

Speaking with the Chicago Tribune, she illuminated the latest HIMSS Cybersecurity Survey Report, which she authors annually, explaining that the healthcare industry has slightly increased its spending on cybersecurity. “Healthcare is one of the very few industries where pretty much everyone is impacted when a cyberattack happens,” she said.

Lee Kim delivered a presentation on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data privacy and future implications this May at the 2024 National Conference of AIIC (Associazione Italiana Ingegneri Clinici) in Rome. She will serve as an expert panelist on a June 18 webinar on the use of AI in healthcare and its cybersecurity implications, hosted by HIT Answers.
