Education
At the Canadian Prairies Chapter we are committed to the educational development of our members and the community. We offer multiple educational events throughout the year, continuing education credits for CAHIMS, CPHIMS, CPDHTS certification holders, CAHIMS and CPHIMS Exam Review course, a Scholarship program and networking opportunities.
CAHIMS and/or CPHIMS Exam Review Course
This course focuses on preparing individuals to take the Certified Associate and/or Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS and/or CPHIMS) exam.
- Content is aligned with the outline of exam topics.
- Each class covers competency areas using materials from the official HIMSS Review Guide and other supplementary materials
- Additional topics include eligibility requirements, preparation approaches, study plans, and self-evaluation tools for the exam.
- Course instructors are chapter members who are CPHIMS certified.
This is a 9 one-hour session online webinar series.
The course is offered between Jan 17 and March 28, 2025 on Fridays at noon (MST). Registration for 2025 is now closed.
Scholarships

To support ongoing professional development, the Canadian HIMSS Prairies chapter is proud to announce that we will be offering two $350 scholarships for chapter members who successfully complete CAHIMS and /or CPHIMS certification in 2025. If you are interested in pursuing the scholarship, please complete the online application. Winners will be announced in December 2025.
